Principals' Message—November 11, 2024

We are excited to share a brief message and video with our families and community. We are more than one quarter through the school year, and last week we were able to reflect on our first quarter with all students and staff via a Virtual Q1 Review Meeting. We have linked below a recorded video of our virtual review meeting, and we would like you to please consider watching it to review some of the positives from the start of our year, the many supports that are available at PR and in our community, and our plans for World Kindness Day. You should know that we intentionally spent some time during this meeting with our students and staff reviewing how difficult it can be to be a teenager today, and Mrs. Welshonce provided an excellent review of what our students can do if they or someone they know needs help.

We are also excited to share with you that our positive school culture programs are continuing to be a focus to recognize students, develop an accepting and welcoming school community, and to give back to our community. For Veterans Day, we hosted over 25 local veterans for our school-wide celebration! The Pine-Richland High School Student Section and Mini-Thon have already raised more than $7,300 to support pediatric cancer research, and our KEY-Interact Club recently led our first blood drive that resulted in 56 units of blood being donated!  

This week, we are celebrating World Kindness Day at PRHS!  Please see below for our student dress themes. Other World Kindness Week initiatives include a school-wide bulletin board sponsored by our Peer2Peer Club, Homeroom activities, and our annual Friendsgiving, which will be held on November 27 during student lunches.
