Act 35 Overview

Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, Act 35 provides all schools with the opportunity to develop a local assessment of U.S. history, government, and civics that includes the nature, purpose, principles, and structure of U.S. constitutional democracy, the principles, operations, and documents of the U.S. government and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.  This focus on civics education aligns tightly with Pine-Richland's social studies program review recommendations.  The local assessment is to be administered to all students between the grades of 7 and 12.  Our students’ results are listed below:

2020-2021 School Year Results:

  • The total number of students who took the assessment: 314
  • The total number of students who attained a passing grade on the assessment: 312
  • The grade level or levels in which the assessment was administered: 11
  • The course or courses in which the assessment was administered: US History 20th Century to Present,
    Honors US History, & AP US History
