AFJROTC Cadets Honor Victims of September 11 Attacks

Pine-Richland School District and Mars Area School District honored the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks with a memorial flag display.

More than 30 Pine-Richland/Mars Air Force JROTC cadets planted 2,977 miniature American flags outside of Richland Elementary School on Bakerstown Road on Tuesday afternoon, representing the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

In previous years, the shared JROTC program planted flags outside of Mars Area High School, but due to construction, moved the project to Richland Elementary this year. 

The flag display will be at Richland Elementary through the end of the week.
