Forensics Speech and Debate Team Places 1st in State Tournament

17 members of the team stand with their plaques and trophy

Pine-Richland High School’s Forensics Speech and Debate Team placed first in the Mid-Size School (11-20 entries) Overall Sweepstakes at the Pennsylvania High School Speech League State Tournament held March 20-21. Nine students also earned individual honors:

  • Eshan Kazi (11), 2nd place, Humorous Interpretation
  • Maddie Gross (12), 2nd place, Poetry
  • Arrash Sheikh (12), 2nd place, Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Saanvi Santpure (10), 2nd place, Commentary
  • Sonaya Arora (10) and Bianka Roman (11), 4th place, News Broadcasting
  • Anusha Chatterjee (10), 5th place, Programmed Oral Interpretation
  • Krisha Thakkar (10), semifinalist, Prose 
  • Darren Lee (11), semifinalist, Storytelling
  • Neil Kakkassery (12), semifinalist, Impromptu
