Eleven AP German 5 seniors were inducted into the Delta Epsilon Phi (ΔΕΦ) National Honor Society for High School Students of German this year: Luke Anderson, Tate Bennett, Thomas DeVito, Emma Early, Liam Jamison, Finn Kichi, Elena Morse, Sofia Perrotin-Dominguez, Nicole Short, Charlotte Wolf and Wes Wright.

These German AP students qualified for membership based on their overall and German course-specific GPAs and their overall high achievement in and completion of the German course sequence.

Following the completion of the AP German exam in May, students received certificates of membership and cords to wear at graduation to represent their accomplishments in the study of the German language. Many of the students intend to continue their German studies through coursework at the university level and through participation in study abroad opportunities.

Delta Epsilon Phi (ΔΕΦ) National Honor Society for High School Students of German recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of learners of German. The organization was founded in 1968 and is supported by the American Association for Teachers of German (AATG) to reward scholastic achievement in the study of German.

Additionally, many of our AP students participated in the German department language immersion program in Munich, Germany, in November. While in Munich, Pine Richland's German students and their teachers engaged in language classes and interactive cultural activities over the course of a week-long stay in the city.
