Michelle Bruno Receives Rob Zellers Award for Excellence in Arts Education
Pine-Richland High School language arts teacher Michelle Bruno has been honored with Pittsburgh Public Theater's prestigious Rob Zellers Award for Excellence in Arts Education.
This award is presented annually to honor a teacher who passionately provides quality arts education experiences for their students. Mrs. Bruno, who teaches acting, directing and English, was selected for her unwavering commitment to inspiring students and cultivating creativity and artistic expression within the Pine-Richland community.
"Mrs. Bruno is a dedicated and passionate teacher that is very deserving of this award and recognition," said Dr. Frank Hernandez, principal of Pine-Richland High School. "She truly seeks to get to know every student in her classes and builds relationships with her students that ensures they are ready to step onto the stage and often outside of their comfort zone. This award recognizes her many years of passion and dedication to our students, the theater and acting program that she has developed, and the unique skills and talents of her students. We are very excited for Mrs. Bruno and her students on such an incredible recognition!"
Mrs. Bruno was honored during the Pittsburgh Public Theater's Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest Finals on Monday, February 24, at the Pittsburgh Public Theater.
