PRHS Hosts Annual Area STEAM Competition

The ninth annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Competition was hosted at Pine-Richland High School on March 23, welcoming students from 14 area schools. High school staff developed five challenges for students, led by a primary project requiring students to design and build an automatic braking system for a cart on an inclined plane. Additional technical tasks included engineering seed dispersal mechanisms, constructing valves to regulate marble flow, utilizing chemical reactions to move pistons, and building marshmallow towers. Teams rotated through these stations to compete, with final awards presented based on design quality, accuracy and performance.

Congratulations to the winning teams!
