Senior Selected for UPMC Sports Medicine Scholarship

Pine-Richland High School senior Deeya Nayyar was selected as the recipient of the 2025 UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship.

The program aims to help increase student interest in sports medicine careers. In addition to a $2,000 scholarship, Deeya spent six weeks interning this summer at the UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Center and UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Through this program, interns have the opportunity to observe patient exams, treatment and rehab by physicians, neuropsychologists, physical therapists and athletic trainers, and can observe orthopaedic surgery with various physicians.
