Sixteen French Students Earn Awards on National French Exam
Sixteen Pine-Richland High School French students were recognized by the American Association of Teachers of French for their performance on the National French Exam in April. Over 47,000 students in all 50 states and abroad took the exam and competed against each other for prizes.
Gold awards went to ninth-grader Marissa Mann (who ranked fifth nationally) and junior Leah Wu (ranked seventh nationally).
Ninth grader Sailesh Senthil, junior Kelsey Neill and senior Ian Bowen (ranked eighth nationally) earned silver.
Students earning bronze include ninth-graders Lizzie Feterik and Divy Mishra, sophomore Rachel Brito, and juniors Grace Lennie and Deeya Nayyar.
Ninth-grader Blake Wilson, sophomores Cody Leeper and Allie Rishel, juniors Sophia Brisendine and Megan Dekunder, and senior Eliza Lazzaro earned honorable mentions.
The National French Exam is an online, multiple-choice test that evaluates listening and reading comprehension.
