Spring Biology and Literature Keystone Exam Schedules

One of the district’s strategic goals is to identify more options in the secondary schedule to provide greater flexibility for students and opportunities for staff collaboration.

For the first time this spring, Pine-Richland High School will modify the bell schedule on Biology and Literature Keystone Exam testing days for all students to:

  • Improve the testing experience for students taking the Keystone Exam
  • Increase collaboration time for staff
  • Provide flexibility for non-testing students to finalize projects, complete assignments or work ahead

On May 12, 13, 19 and 20, the high school will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule. This schedule will allow our largest testing student groups (Biology and Literature) to complete the test and attend all classes. This applies only to Pine-Richland High School.

Students who are testing should report at normal time. Testing will be conducted from 7:45 am – 9:45 am. Students who are scheduled to take AP and CHS exams on these days should also report at 7:45 am.

Students who are not testing have two options:

  • Drive to school/carpool for a start time of 9:45 am
  • Arrive at normal time and have a supervised study hall in the auditorium until 9:45 am

Busing will still occur at the same time as on a typical day. All students may ride the bus and follow their traditional schedules.

Additional parking will be permitted on the opposite side of the middle school for licensed students to drive to school.

Note that we will operate on a regular schedule on May 14 and 15 for the Algebra I Keystone Exam.

It is very important that students who are testing arrive each day for a start time of 7:45 am. On test days, students will report directly to their testing locations, which will be shared with students through their district email accounts. After testing, students will be dismissed to their homerooms for attendance and then go to their first-period class. Extended time will be available for all students who need it.

Please contact your child’s assigned alpha assistant principal if you have any questions regarding the Keystone Exams.
