Two Seniors Earn National Merit Finalist Status

Pine-Richland High School seniors Mateen Hasan and Deeya Nayyar have been named National Merit Scholarship Program finalists.
Being named a National Merit Finalist is a prestigious distinction awarded to the top 1% of high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional academic ability.
To reach this stage, students must not only earn a qualifying score on the PSAT/NMSQT but they also maintain an outstanding academic record, receive a school recommendation, and submit a detailed application. Each year, all Pine-Richland juniors and interested sophomores take the PSAT/NMSQT exam.
Mateen and Deeya have advanced to the Finalist stage, making them eligible for over 6,800 National Merit Scholarships and merit-based packages offered by many participating universities.
