French and Spanish Students Place at World Language Competition
Ten Pine-Richland High School French and Spanish students placed at the World Language Competition at Slippery Rock University on October 8.
Students from 31 area schools participated in the competition, which included exams, a cultural scavenger hunt, and opportunities to learn about Dia de los Muertos traditions and Japanese calligraphy.
Winners included:
- Senior Levina Jithesh (1st place, Spanish Level 4)
- Junior Jimena Belda Alcazar (2nd place, Heritage Language Learner)
- Senior Ian Hurt (2nd place, Spanish Level 4)
- Senior William Tamburri (3rd place, Spanish Level 4)
- Junior Davin Biagini (3rd place, Spanish Level 3)
- Sophomore Olivia Moore (2nd place, Spanish Level 2)
- Ninth-grader Hans Jhamb (3rd place, Spanish Level 1)
- Junior Kelsey Neill (3rd place, French Level 3)
- Junior Leah Wu (2nd place, French Level 3)
- Ninth-grader Marissa Mann (2nd place, French Level 1)
